Objectives:
The Product Development component of the National SME Development Agenda seeks to provide existing and potential entrepreneurs with services in product and package design and development to create and sustain our competitive edge in the domestic and export markets.
Product Development encompasses all activity from generating ideas to applied research on materials, processes, and technologies to full scale introduction of a product to the market.
Product Development is important to a company for two main reasons - to sustain growth and to improve profit margins. This component also seeks to create an awareness and understanding of product development and its process and how a company can use it to its advantage.
