The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Region 02 in partnership with the Philippine Trade Training Center (PTTC) conducted the Effective Selling and Negotiation Skills Seminar on 06 September 2016 at the Villa Blanca Hotel, Ugac Norte, Tuguegarao City, Cagayan.

The activity aims to further enhance the ability of the participants to respond on various negotiations, to convince people to buy their products, to help them build strong relationship with their clients and to help them in their everyday transactions.

Mr. Dennis A. Orlina, President of the ASEAN Handicraft Promotions and Development Association Philippines served as the resource person and was assisted by Mr. Carlo Giovanni Guiyab, training coordinator of PTTC.

Among the topics discussed were: The Difference of Selling and Negotiating, Creative Selling Process, How to Recognize Buying Signals, Attributes of an Effective Sales Person, How to Improve Selling and Negotiation Skills, and Characteristics of an Effective Negotiator.

Mr. Orlina emphasized that selling is not purely telling, but salespeople should follow a carefully planned and creative selling process from the beginning up to the end and a repeated application to establish the habit of doing things right.

In attendance during the seminar were individual entrepreneurs and officers of different Cooperatives, Associations, and Rural Improvement Clubs in the region and some DTI personnel.
