In preparation for the upcoming Manila FAME, the Center for International Trade Expositions and Missions (CITEM) conducted an exhibitors briefing to the ten (10) Manila FAME participants of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Region 02 on 28 September 2016 at the Lighthouse Cooperative Conference Room, Tuguegarao City, Cagayan.

Ms. Giselle Erese and Mr. Giuss Icaranom, the CITEM coordinators – discussed the event profile, show features, special events, exhibitor marketing and services and ingress procedure and schedule.

On the same day, the CITEM, in partnership with the Philippine Trade Training Center (PTTC), organized an export coaching seminar which was attended by participating MSMEs in Manila FAME and other potential exporters of the Region.

The coaching seminar aims to prepare exhibitors for their participation in the Manila FAME and to give them advice on exporting.

Licensed customs broker, Mr. Cris John Garcia, served as the resource person, assisted by PTTC training coordinator, Mr. Roy Adriano. Among the topics discussed were the International Trade and Size of the Business, International Commercial Terms 2010, and Export Documentation and Process.

Mr. Garcia said that the products should have stories, and that they should think big and be innovative. He also presented some success stories to serve as inspiration to the MSMEs.

In attendance during the export coaching seminar were 21 individual entrepreneurs, officers of different the Cooperatives and Associations, LGU representatives and some DTI coordinators.

Meanwhile, the Design Center of the Philippines (DCP) conducted a Prototype Checking on 29 September 2016 at the DTI NERBAC Building, Carig Sur, Tuguegarao City, Cagayan.

The activity was facilitated by the Product Specialists, Mr. Stephen Buñi and Ms. Rachelle Dagñalan, assisted by DCP Junior Project Officers, Ms. Tin Nazareth, Ms. Carla Gatdula and Ms. Lotti Galicia.

A total of forty seven (47) designs were presented to the designers for comments. Designers were also able to add seven (7) more designs.
