International tourist arrivals to the Philippines rose by 11.5% to 5.47 million visitors from January to October 2017 compared to its level in the same period last year.
South Korea remained the country's top tourism market with 24.3% share of the total PH tourist arrivals from January to October 2017, with 1,332,141 visitors. This was a 10.6% jump from its level of 1,204,154 visitors during the same period last year. China was second with 810,807 visitors in the country, followed by US with 785,269, Japan with 490,857, and Australia with 206,443.
The highest number of tourist arrivals in the period of January to October was recorded in January at 631,639 visitors, while the lowest was in June at 474,854 visitors.
