Philippine-branded organic coconut products including coconut milk, coconut cream, balsamic sauce, aminos sauces, coconut syrup, coconut oil, and coconut jam are now available in top online retail stores in Russia such as Ozon and Wildberries.

Ten new coconut products of Quezon’s Best, a Philippine manufacturer of organic and Halal- and Kosher-certified coconut products, are now available in major Russian mainstream online retail stores.

DTI Secretary Ramon M. Lopez stated, “Finally, a wider range of Philippine-branded organic coconut food products are now being sold and made available to mainstream consumers in Russia through their online stores. With this development, Russians can have a taste of our quality world-class food products.”

Earlier this year, Coco Daily organic coconut milk was made available in the Russian market. Now a wider range of organic coconut products are available, and these include – refined coconut oil, organic refined coconut oil, organic coconut sauce aminos, organic coconut sauce balsamic, organic coconut syrup, organic coconut vinegar, organic coconut sugar, organic coconut sauce with vinegar, organic coconut jam, coconut jam with cacao.

Philippine coconut products are picking up steam in the Russian market because of its pure taste and absence of unhealthy additives. Among these, coconut jam is completely new for the Russian market and is gaining more popularity among local buyers. With Russian customers turning to more organic products and following the trend of purchasing healthy foods, Philippine coconut products are gaining momentum. These goods are seen as natural alternatives to similar products, garnering high ratings from Russian customers on the online supermarkets’ websites.

Pasciolco Agri Ventures is the manufacturer and exporter of Quezon’s Best organic coconut products, while Century Pacific Agri Ventures, Inc. (CPAVI) is the manufacturer of Coco Daily organic coconut milk. New separate container shipments of organic coconut products from the said Philippine companies arrived at Saint Petersburg port last month.

PanAsia ImpEx Ltd., the Russian importer of these new products, has expressed its commitment to continue working with Philippine exporters in sourcing organic products, because of its high potential and high sales in the Russian market.

Pan-Asia Impex Ltd.’s partnership with the Philippines stemmed from a meeting with the DTI’s Philippine Trade & Investment Center (PTIC) in Moscow last year, where they expressed interest in sourcing coconut milk and other coconut products from the Philippines.  PTIC-Moscow, which is headed by its Commercial Counsellor and Director Kristine Umali, then facilitated B2B introductions followed by meetings with Philippine exporters at the sidelines of the Philippines-Russia Joint Commission on Trade & Economic Cooperation (JCTEC) in August 2019 and the World Food Moscow in September 2019, both held in Moscow, Russia.

“Having our products available in Russia is a testament that despite the pandemic, our Philippine exporters can and have the capability not only to continue our trade exports in the global market but forge new partnerships with buyers and importers in new markets. This was made possible with the collaboration and assistance of our DTI-PTICs abroad and DTI in Manila, all working closely together with Philippine exporters,  in taking advantage of export opportunities abroad,” the Trade Secretary added.

Commercial Counsellor Umali continues to organize and facilitate B2B meetings between Russian importers and distributors with Philippine exporters/manufacturers in other product categories.♦
