Last 28-30 November 2017, the DTI-National Capital Regional Office launched its regional trade fair dubbed as “Metro Fiesta 2017: Experience Manila”. The fair featured the best and finest crafts from Metro Manila.
While the region does not have the luxury of having its indigenous raw materials for its products, the entrepreneurs possess the innovative and ingenious imagination and artistry in creating and developing products exemplifying the progressive, vibrant and dynamic region.
Thus, it is in this regional fair where buyers and consumers meet to visit and appreciate the Manila experience: to taste, smell, see, hear and feel a fully interactive take of the region showcasing the finest crafts and products from the following sectors:
- Processed Food
- Wearables (Footwear, Bags, Garments, Fashion Accessories)
- Health and Wellness
- Home and Holiday Decors
The 3-day regional fair last year was participated in by 91 micro-entrepreneurs and generated on-the-spot cash sales of P3.86M.
The micro-entrepreneurs were very happy with the result of their participation to the fair as they were able to experience how is it to participate and actively sell in an organized fair. They were able to meet fellow entrepreneurs who somehow became their suppliers of accessories and inputs to their products. They requested that they participate again in the next regional fair.
They all agreed that the 2017 regional fair opened new markets as a result of the inquiries they received and it made them realize their competitors and partners. They are now working on the improvement of the quality of their products and production capacity to better respond to the needs of the market.
The Metro Fiesta: Experience Manila 2018, a five-day regional trade fair under the OTOP Next Gen Program, aims to further expand the market niche of NCR products and continually develop their production capacities and marketing strategies to sustain their enterprises’ profitability/viability.
