Manila, Philippines — Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Acting Secretary Ma. Christina A. Roque built anticipation for the nationwide Philippine Creative Industries Month (PCIM) celebration in September 2024. The trade chief made the announcement during a press conference, August 23.

Themed “#WeAreACreativeNation,” this year’s PCIM highlights the essential role of creativity and innovation in shaping the Philippines’ socio-cultural and economic landscape. The month-long event will showcase the country’s diverse creative outputs in music, visual arts, literature, design, fashion, film, and beyond.

By promoting Philippine creative products and services globally, PCIM 2024 supports the strategic vision of positioning the Philippines as Asia’s premier creative hub by 2030 and solidifies the country’s status as a key player in the international creative economy.

This goal emphasizes the crucial role of the creative sector in driving national development and economic growth, while also promoting the global profile and market reach of Philippine creative products and services.

This year’s event will bring together creative professionals, industry associations, government agencies, local government units, educational institutions, and corporations to participate in celebrating the Philippine Creative Industries.

The DTI encourages all sectors to enroll their September events as co-branded or co-bannered activities under the PCIM celebration with the hashtag #WeAreACreativeNation.

At the PCIM media launch, Acting Secretary Ma. Cristina Aldeguer-Roque was joined by DTI Undersecretary Rafaelita M. Aldaba and other key executives to express their commitment.

This includes PCIDA author Congressman Christopher De Venecia, Department of Information and Communications Technology Usec. Jocelle Batapa-Sigue, National Economic and Development Authority Usec.
