Manila, Philippines – In commemoration of the 75th anniversary of the Philippines and Indonesia diplomatic relations, a strategic collaboration through the “Philippines-Indonesia Creative Economy Roundtable” is set to take place this Wednesday, August 28, 2024, at the Sheraton, Newport City, Manila.
The Philippines-Indonesia Creative Economy Roundtable is under the Malikhaing Pinoy Program of the Department of Trade and Industry’s Competitiveness and Innovation Group (DTI-CIG) and is facilitated by the DTI’s investment and trade promotion arm in Indonesia, the Philippine Trade and Investment Center – Jakarta (PTIC – Jakarta).
The Forum aims to create mutually beneficial partnerships that drive economic growth, foster cultural exchange, and promote creativity and innovation in the region.
This initiative will feature exhibitions of proudly Filipino-made products and panel discussions covering topics on policy support systems, creative industries research and statistics, and the Philippines-Indonesia government-academe-industry collaboration. Additionally, the event will be an avenue for networking and partnership building among key players in the creative industries between the two countries.
Industry leaders from both the Philippines and Indonesia including government officials, industry professionals, entrepreneurs, and artists, among others, are expected to grace the event to further promote cross-border trade and market access for creative goods and services between the Philippines and Indonesia. The Philippines and Indonesia have a deeply shared cultural heritage, but each country lauds its unique artistic expressions. This event will highlight the synergy between traditional and modern influences in both countries, offering attendees a picture of the dynamic evolution of the two countries’ respective creative industries. ♦
