Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Northern Mindanao celebrates the Consumer Welfare Month this October 2021 with a series of activities intended to strengthen consumer rights and responsibilities.
This year’s theme, “Digital Consumers: The New Normal,” is a pledge of DTI to continue in protecting today’s digital consumers through its thrusts on digital reform.
It puts emphasis not only on the heightened awareness and knowledge of consumers but also on their assured engagement on programs and initiatives that will provide them protection, this time through the use of the internet and the available online platforms.
One of the major activities is the annual virtual Regional Quiz Bowl open for everyone in Northern Mindanao that will be held 19 October this year. Another Regional Quiz Bowl for high school students (15-18 years old) is scheduled on 21 October 2021.
Aside from webinars, other exciting activities in the provinces include the Provincial Youth Consumer e-Forum on 8 October, Diskwento Caravan in Don Carlos on 14 October, and Safety Seal Ceremonial Awarding on 29 October in Bukidnon.
DTI Camiguin will be organizing a Consumer Organization courtesy call to the governor on October 6 and participate in the Local Price Coordinating Council (LPCC) Operation Timbangan to its five municipalities on 19-22 October 2021.
DTI Lanao del Norte continues its Online Fiesta Diskwento Caravan that started on 27 September 27 and will end on 4 October. Additional activities include Vlog Contest on October 15 and its highly anticipated annual Vendor’s/Retailer’s Quiz on 22 October.
Meanwhile, DTI Misamis Occidental will have a Consumer Welfare Thursdays on every Thursday of October and will also have its exciting Diskwento Caravan in Oroquieta City Plaza, Oroquieta City on 13-15 October 2021.
DTI Misamis Oriental will have its own Consumer Welfare Wednesdays in partnership with other national government agencies, vlog makingcontest and e-comics making contest with both deadlines on 22 October, and the virtual awarding/recognition of winners, Bagwis awardees and the Safety Seal certification of business establishments on 28 October 2021.
