Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) empowers local businesses in Northeastern Mindanao on investment and export opportunities through free trade agreements with a Trade Education and Advocacy (TEA) Campaign on June 13-14, 2024 at Limketkai Luxe Hotel, Cagayan de Oro City.

Empowering Philippine Export Industries of Northeastern Mindanao: A Trade Education and Advocacy Campaign on Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) and Preferential Trade Agreements aims to increase the awareness and utilization of RCEP Agreement and other existing free trade agreements (FTAs) and preferential arrangements of the Philippines.

The forum gathered together stakeholders from Regions 10, 11, CARAGA, from the business sector, chambers of commerce and industries, industry associations, universities, local governments, and DTI’s Rural Agro-enterprise Partnership for Inclusive Development (RAPID) Growth Project, and representatives from the Embassies of Australia, China, and Indonesia.

The information campaign featured sessions on RCEP, GSP+, export opportunities and trade remedy tools, success stories and challenges in doing business across borders, and identified areas of concern and of cooperation with the private sector in navigating international markets.

A cliniquing session was additionally organized to provide opportunities for businesses to consult with representatives of key government departments like DTI, Department of Agriculture (DA), Bureau of Customs (BOC), and the Tariff Commission.

The TEA Campaign is organized by the Trade and Industry’s International Trade Group, Regional Operations Group, lndustry Development and lnvestment Promotions Group, and RAPID Growth Project. ♦
