The Department of Trade and Industry recently conducted an Orientation on the 2017 Cities and Municipalities Competitiveness Index (CMCI) Survey in Cagayan and Isabela on February 9, 2017 and February 16, 2017 respectively.
The orientation aims to deepen the appreciation of Local Government Units (LGUs) on the importance of the CMCI Survey in advancing the level of competitiveness of each LGU. Part of the orientation was the discussion of the pillar on “resiliency” and additional indicators.
Topics discussed were Background of the CMCI Survey, 2016 CMCI Survey Research Report, 2017 CMCI Survey: The Indicators of Local Competitiveness, Implementing Mechanics and Data Validation, and the Timeline of Activities for 2017.
In attendance during the orientation were members of the Regional Competitiveness Committee, Business Permits and Licensing Officers (BPLOs) and City/Municipal Planning and Development Coordinators (CPDCs/MPDCs) in the region, representatives from the academe, and representatives from DOT, Negosyo Coordinators, and some DTI region 2 personnel.
The same orientation and workshop will also be conducted in Nueva Vizcaya on March 01, 2017 and in Batanes on March 17, 2017.
