Cauayan City and Santiago City, Isabela —  The DTI R2 Nueva Vizcaya Provincial Office led by Provincial Director Atty. Michael B. Paggabao has taken another big step in helping Nueva Vizcaya’s local farmers and MSMEs gain recognition and wider access to various market opportunities as the agency conducted an exploratory meeting with some of the institutional buyers in the region – SM City Supermarket in Cauayan City and Robinson’s Supermarket in Santiago City on 19 June 2024.

The meeting focused on establishing direct links between the farmers, local MSMEs, and supermarkets, aiming to supply fresh fruits, vegetables, and FDA-certified food products.

Both institutional buyers expressed their openness to the agency’s proposal, provided that the produce and products meet the required quality standards and necessary documentation.

Initial agreements were made, including the submission of proposals, letters of intent, and product information sheets.

PD Paggabao is optimistic that these efforts to improve market access will help Nueva Vizcaya’s farmers and MSMEs gain the recognition they deserve, leading to more sales and jobs generated for the community.

Also with PD Paggabao were BDD Chief Lenore Lee S. Lopez and TIDS Silvester T. Miguel.
