The Quirino Provincial Office Negosyo Center, in partnership with the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) and the Provincial Public Employment Service Office (PESO) conducted an Enterprise Development Trainings on April 4 and 6, 2017 at the Provincial Capitol Gymnasium, Cabarroguis, Quirino.
The activity was organized for the Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW) particularly the beneficiaries of Balik-Pinas, Balik-Hanapbuhay (BPBH) Program and Enterprise Development & Loan (EDL) Program of OWWA.
About 46 BPBH and 35 EDLP beneficiaries from the different municipalities of Quirino province attended the activity.
DTI Quirino Trade Industry Development Specialist, Mr. Lovell Mark Campania and Diffun Negosyo Center Coordinator, Ms. Karen Grace Garcia facilitated the training and discussed topics on how to start a small business. DTI R02 SMERA Counselor, Ms. Evelyn Viloria focused on business counselling and business planning.

Participants were taught on how to prepare a business plan, a requirement in availing a financial assistance.
The Balik Pinas! Balik Hanapbuhay! Program of OWWA is a non-cash livelihood assistance which aims to provide immediate relief to returning OFWs who were repatriated due to distressful situations in their host countries. Qualified beneficiaries will receive trainings assistance and livelihood starter kit worth PhP10,000.
Meanwhile, the Enterprise Development and Loan Program is an enterprise development intervention and loan facility of OWWA, in partnership with LBP intended to support enterprise development among OFWs and their families in the establishment of viable business enterprises, which will provide them with steady income streams and create employment opportunities in their communities.
DTI has partnered with OWWA to jointly implement convergent programs, projects and services for OFWs and their families who intend to start their own business.
