
Mabitac, Laguna — The Laguna Provincial Office of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI-Laguna), together with the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) of Regional Office No. 4-A, conducted a seminar called “Marketing Assistance and Enterprise Development” through the Special Area of Agricultural Development Program at Barangay Pag-asa, Mabitac, Laguna, on July 10, 2024.
A total of twenty-six (26) individuals within the said community, particularly those within the Fisherfolk Association, attended the seminar. The topic on “How to Start a Business and Business Plan” was discussed by Business Counsellors from DTI-Laguna. First on the discussion was Ms. Avegail Agojo who focused on the competencies that a successful entrepreneur must have followed by how to generate a business idea, business planning, financial concerns, implementation of business projects, and evaluating a business. It was then followed by the discussion on Business Name Registration and the Barangay Micro Business Enterprises. The topic on entrepreneurial mind-setting was then discussed by Ms Lyka Grace Postrado, emphasizing what kind of thinking a person must have to enable them make the most out of opportunities and succeed in their entrepreneurial journey. Overall, participants were imparted with essential knowledge and skills necessary in business, marketing, and entrepreneurship.
As part of DTI-Laguna’s mandate on empowering consumers, Mr. Kim Carlo Palacio of Negosyo Center Siniloan discussed consumer education which provided the attendees with insights on their rights and responsibilities as a consumer.
This activity is part of the continuous commitment of DTI-Laguna to provide business and consumer information to potential and existing entrepreneurs in Laguna (KCPalacio, DTI-Laguna). ♦
