Santa Rosa City — The Laguna Provincial Office of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI-Laguna, represented by its Negosyo Center Santa Rosa, together with the Strengthening the Transition of Vulnerable Communities Affected by the South Commuter Railway Project (STVC South Project), Livelihood Sub-Committee – Public Employment Service Office of Santa Rosa City, and the City Social Welfare And Development Office of Santa Rosa City, conducted a seminar called “BOSEM and Negosyo 101 Training Design” held at the PESO Training Room Building B, Santa Rosa City, Laguna, on May 23, 2024.

This seminar aimed to empower individuals within the community, particularly those affected by the ongoing railway project, with essential knowledge and skills in entrepreneurship. By imparting vital knowledge and practical skills in entrepreneurship, the event sought to equip participants with the necessary tools to navigate and thrive in their economic endeavors, thereby fostering resilience and self-sufficiency within the community.

The proceedings commenced with the warm and welcoming remarks delivered by Mr. Carlo Alcoriza, who served as the esteemed Cluster Lead Mentor. Following this, a Business Counsellor from DTI-Laguna tackled the entrepreneurial mindset cum how to start a business and Mr. Donald V. Obusan from Red Cross discussed about first aid and disaster risk reduction, thus contributing to the comprehensive scope of the program.

A grand total of sixty-six (66) participants graced the workshop with their attendance, contributing to the enriching exchange of ideas and knowledge. As the program drew to a close, it culminated in a constructive feedback session facilitated by the STVC, thereby providing an invaluable opportunity for reflection and evaluation, ensuring continuous improvement and refinement of future endeavors (NJDAtayde, DTI-Laguna). ♦
