Calamba City — The Department of Trade and Industry – Laguna Provincial Office, in collaboration with the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) Revenue District Office 056 and supported by the Local Government Unit of Calamba City, Laguna, organized a seminar titled “DAPAT ALAM KO!: DTI Online Registration and BIR Tax Compliance with Consumer Education” at the JRMS Auditorium, Central 1 Elementary School, Calamba City, Laguna.

The program commenced with opening remarks from DTI-Laguna Provincial Director Christian Ted Tungohan, who expressed his support for the event. He highlighted the importance of empowering local entrepreneurs and helping them understand regulatory requirements.

The speakers of this seminar included (1) Ms. Aira Camille Ambasa who discussed the topic of BIR tax compliance, covering essential aspects such as the importance of registering with the BIR, understanding tax obligations, the process of filing taxes, potential penalties for non-compliance, and the associated costs of registration; (2) Ms. Alma Arenal who offered valuable insights on the registration processes for online business name registration; and (3) Ms. Trixia Mae Sulte who discussed the rights and responsibilities of consumers.

This seminar aimed to equip both aspiring and current business owners with essential information on how to register their businesses online from home. The session also provided practical tips and insights into navigating the online registration system, making it easier for business owners to comply with government regulations efficiently.
