
Santa Rosa City — The Laguna Provincial Office of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI-Laguna), represented by its Negosyo Center Santa Rosa, together with the City Government Unit of Santa Rosa conducted the “Tindahan mo, e-Level Up Mo! A DTI Sari-Sari Store Advancement Program” at the Vista Mall Santa Rosa-Tagaytay Road, City of Santa Rosa, Laguna, on July 11, 2024.
The learning session of the Sari-Sari Store Advancement Program was a vibrant and insightful experience, brimming with practical knowledge and community spirit. The session gathered enthusiastic sari-sari store owners eager to enhance their business skills. Speakers shared valuable insights on customer service strategies, as well as financial literacy, tailored specifically to the unique challenges and opportunities of micro-retailers. Participants engaged in lively discussions, exchanging ideas on how to attract more customers and improve profitability while maintaining the store’s role as a social hub. The session concluded with a sense of empowerment and camaraderie, as attendees left inspired to implement new ideas and contribute actively to their neighborhoods’ economic growth.


After the talk of Mr. Jose Roberto SA. Almeda Jr., Bank Officer II from Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) about the BSP’s Paleng-QR and financial literacy, Ms. Roxanne Fatima Garcia from DTI-Laguna Negosyo Center Biñan discussed DTI Programs and Services. Then, Ms. Nicka Jean Atayde of DTI-Laguna Negosyo Center Santa Rosa presented the first module of the Sari-Sari Store Advancement Program. Back to back with the seminar is the opening ceremony of MSMEs Trade Fair organized by the City Government of Santa Rosa thru their City Cooperatives Development Office.
The opening of the said fair included a welcoming message from DTI-Laguna Provincial Director Christian Ted Tungohan, a message of support delivered by City Councilor Hon. Roy Gonzales, and a closing remarks by City Councilor Hon. Laudemer Carta.
The seminar was attended by a total of forty-four (44) participants and it aimed to equip local entrepreneurs, particularly sari-sari store owners, with valuable knowledge and resources to strengthen and expand their businesses. On the other hand, the MSMEs Trade Fair, which was participated by forty (40) micro, small and medium enterprises, wanted to showcase the best products of the province of Laguna (NJDAtayde, DTI-Laguna). ♦
