07292024_DTI-Laguna Conducts Seminar on Ensuring Legal Compliance and Business Security

Alaminos, Laguna — On July 12, 2024, the Laguna Provincial Office of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) through its Negosyo Center Calamba, in collaboration with Mercantile Insurance Company Inc. and supported by the City Government Unit of Calamba,  organized a seminar titled “Ensuring Legal Compliance and Business Security: A Guide to DTI Online Registration and Comprehensive General Liability (CGL) Insurance for Calamba Businesses with Consumer Education” at the CLDD Training Center, Mercado de Calamba, Brgy 5 (Pob.), Calamba City, Laguna.

The speakers of this seminar included (1) Mr. Gil Clarete, who discussed the overview, forms of liability insurance, and benefits of CGL insurance; (2) Ms. Alma Arenal, who offered valuable insights on the registration processes for online business name registration; and (3) Ms. Dianne Piamonte, who discussed the rights and responsibilities of consumers.

This seminar was organized with the objective of educating local businesses in Calamba City about the significance of registering with the Department of Trade and Industry and adhering to the requirements of CGL insurance. The seminar emphasized that compliance with these regulations is not merely a matter of legal necessity but also plays a crucial role in bolstering business security and enhancing operational resilience. By ensuring adherence to DTI registration and CGL insurance requirements, businesses can protect themselves against potential risks and liabilities, thereby fostering a more stable and secure business environment.
