Santa Rosa City — The Laguna Provincial Office of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI-Laguna), represented by its Negosyo Center Santa Rosa, together with the Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) conducted “Start Up: A Visionary Venture on Consumer Awareness, Rights and Entrepreneurship” at the Santa Rosa Auditorium in the City Government of Santa Rosa City on June 1, 2024.
This workshop was an initiative led by students from PUP and other universities who are embarking on their entrepreneurial journeys. With a focus on educating both consumers and budding entrepreneurs, this project aims to bridge the gap between awareness and action in the marketplace. Through workshops, seminars, and interactive campaigns, participants learned about their rights as consumers while also gaining invaluable insights into the intricacies of starting and running a successful business.

“By harnessing the energy and creativity of student entrepreneurs, Start Up cultivates a vibrant ecosystem where innovation thrives. Through mentorship programs and networking opportunities, participants not only refine their business awareness but also forge meaningful connections within the entrepreneurial community. This collaborative endeavor not only empowers students to pursue their entrepreneurial dreams but also cultivates a culture of ethical business practices and consumer advocacy that will shape the future of commerce.”
The event commenced with opening remarks by Ms. Rocio Tejido, a PUP marketing instructor, followed by motivational speakers from Mr. Ricardo E. Paelmo, Department Head of Sales Division at Enchanted Kingdom. Ms. Nicka Jean D. Atayde, a Negosyo Center Business Counselor of Santa Rosa City, discussed the Entrepreneurial Mind Setting cum Consumer Rights and Responsibilities. The program concluded with certificate presentations to the individuals who actively participated in the event.
