
VICTORIA, LAGUNA – In line with the National Standard Week and Consumer Welfare Month themed “Be smart, assert your consumer rights!”, with the goal of strengthening the Consumer Act, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Laguna Provincial Office conducted a seminar on Product Standards and Conformance, Consumer Rights and Responsibilities, and Fair Trade Laws to businesses in San Pedro City, Laguna, on October 10, 2024.
A total of 43 individuals participated in the aforementioned event. The attendees included staff from grocery stores, hardware stores, service and repair organizations, and Bagwis Awardees. The DTI-Laguna Consumer Protection Division, in partnership with the DTI 4A Regional Office and the City Government Unit of San Pedro City, spearheaded this activity in order to raise awareness about the importance of understanding the law, including product standards, consumer rights and responsibilities, and other fair trade laws, and to encourage grocery stores, supermarkets, hardware stores, and service and repair businesses to apply the law in their daily operations for a fair and better consumer experience
In addition to this, DTI-Laguna commits to establish a strong foundation of expertise and practical knowledge in Product Standards and Conformance, Consumer Rights and Responsibilities, and Other Fair Trade Laws.
