Cabuyao City — One of the activities conducted by the Department of Trade and Industry – Laguna Provincial Office during the Celebration of the MSME Week last July 8 to 14, 2024, was a seminar entitled “Mastering Business Operations: Strategies for Success” on July 9, 2024. This seminar was an initiative of the Negosyo Center Cabuyao City.

Held via the online conferencing platform Zoom, the seminar was graced by the Trade Industry Development Specialist of DTI-Laguna Business Development Division, Ms. Klyde Joy Bruno, and the Officer-in-Charge of Negosyo Center Cabuyao City, Mr. Jerome O. Lavina, MMPA.

DTI-Laguna’s very own Negosyo Center Business Counsellor Ms. Lyka Grace A. Postrado, LPT, served as the resource person. In her discussion, the participating microentrepreneurs were empowered on how to adopt an effective business operations strategy that will boost efficiency, productivity, cost savings, and profits. Furthermore, Postrado emphasized that streamlining procedures can help businesses become more adaptable and ready to respond to changing market conditions and customer expectations.

According to Section 16 of the Republic Act No. 9501, also known as the Magna Carta for MSMEs, the second week of July of each year is declared as the MSME Development Week (MSMED Week) with the primary purpose of instituting awareness of the primacy of MSMEs in nation-building. This year’s overall theme focused on “Innovate to Elevate MSMEs” to underscore the pivotal role of innovation and digitalization in empowering MSMEs in today’s competitive business landscape.
