
Calamba City — The Department of Trade and Industry – Laguna Provincial Office (DTI-Laguna) thru its Negosyo Centers, in partnership with the Calamba Manpower Development Center, conducted a training seminar held at the Sectoral Affairs Conference Room at Calamba City Hall, on September 10, 2024.
The audience comprised 68 trainees from Bread and Pastry Production, Food and Beverage Services NC II, and Culinary Arts and Dressmaking NC II.
The program commenced with the opening remarks from Mr. Leonardo D. Dela Cruz, Supervising Manpower Development Officer, City Social Services Department. This was followed by a brief introduction and expression of gratitude to the resource speakers and to DTI-Laguna delivered by Mr. Tonymer Victor L. Castillo.
The speakers included Rafael Yuan P. Gatdula, Negosyo Center Business Counsellor in Pagsanjan, who discussed the importance of food safety; Kim Carlo Palacio, Negosyo Center Business Counsellor in Siniloan, who explained the function and use of pricing and costing in running a business; Dianne M. Piamonte, Negosyo Center Business Counsellor in Calauan, who shared her insights about the topic Google My Business; Alma R. Arenal, Negosyo Center Business Counsellor in Calamba, who talked about the significance of packaging and labeling requirements and a brief discussion about consumer education; and lastly Syruz A. Reyes, Negosyo Center Business Counsellor in Cabuyao, who shared his insights and personal experience regarding entrepreneurship.
