Cabuyao City, Laguna — The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Laguna Provincial Office, through its Negosyo Center in Cabuyao, successfully hosted a seminar titled “Empowering Sellers: Unveiling DTI Programs and Services cum Consumer Education for Prosperous Ventures.” The collaborative effort was supported by the Small Business Corporation and the Local Government Unit and Market Administration of Cabuyao City. The event was held at the 2nd Floor, CIDA Office, Cabuyao Retail Plaza, Brgy. Dos, Cabuyao City, Laguna, and reached active participation from the local businesses in the community.

The seminar aimed to equip local sellers with the knowledge and tools needed to thrive in today’s competitive marketplace. This initiative reflects DTI’s ongoing commitment to fostering economic growth and empowering micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the region.

Among the notable attendees was Mr. Dave Michael G. Uniforme, the Market Administrator of Cabuyao City, who delivered the opening remarks. He expressed his support for the event and highlighted the importance of such initiatives in boosting local businesses. “This seminar is a vital platform for our local sellers to gain crucial insights and support that will enable them to prosper. We are committed to creating an environment where businesses can flourish,” Uniforme stated.

The seminar was facilitated by Ms. Lyka Grace A. Postrado, Negosyo Center Business Counselor assigned in Cabuyao City. Postrado provided a comprehensive overview of the various programs and services offered by DTI. Her presentation also covered the essential aspects of consumer education, emphasizing the significance of understanding consumer rights and responsibilities. “Empowering our business owners with knowledge about consumer rights and DTI services is key to ensuring their growth and sustainability,” she remarked.

Mr. Benson L. Sarabia, a representative from the Small Business Corporation, also spoke at the event. He detailed the financial assistance and support programs available to small businesses, stressing the importance of accessible funding options for business expansion and stability. “Our goal is to provide the necessary financial tools and resources to help small businesses overcome challenges and achieve their full potential,” Sarabia explained.

The event was attended by fifty (50) participants, primarily local market vendors from the Cabuyao Retail Plaza. The participants actively engaged in the seminar, raising pertinent questions, and sharing their experiences. The interactive nature of the seminar facilitated a productive exchange of ideas and best practices among the attendees.

One of the participants, Ms. Noraisa Pandapatan, a local vendor, shared her thoughts on the seminar. “I found the seminar extremely helpful. Learning about the different DTI programs and consumer rights has given me more confidence to grow my business. I am grateful for the support from DTI and the local government,” she said.
