Santa Cruz, Laguna — The Laguna Provincial MSME Development Council presided by the Laguna Economic Development and Investment Promotion Office (LEDIPO) Head Ms. Fatima Eleonor Villaseñor as representative to Laguna Governor Ramil L. Hernandez and Provincial Director Christian Ted O. Tungohan of the Department of Trade and Industry Laguna Provincial Office as Head PSMEDC Secretariat convened on May 10, 2024, the screening, deliberation and finalization of the nominations to the most coveted recognition for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and outstanding development partners.

The 2024 Presidential Awards aims to (1) recognize outstanding small and medium enterprises that have shown the most remarkable achievements in business management and financial performance, contributing to the growth of their community and industry, and to (2) provide citations on good MSME practices that have implemented noteworthy performance in areas prioritized by the MSMED Council for the year as crucial to the economic and social development of the country. The endorsed nominee for the Presidential Award for Outstanding MSMEs in the Small Enterprise Category was Ai-She Footwear of Liliw, Laguna, and that for the Medium Enterprise Category was Oryspa Spa Solutions Inc. from Calamba City, Laguna.

The presidential recognition for outstanding partners, however, aims to recognize and cite programs and services that best serve the MSME sector and promote MSME programs and services. The endorsed nominee for Presidential Recognition for Outstanding Development Partner in the Category Providing/Improving Access to Finance (A2F) is CARD MRI /CARD Inc., that in the Category Providing/Improving Access to Markets (A2M) is the Provincial Government of Laguna and that in the Category Creating/Improving Business Climate (BC) is the City Government of Biñan.

The screening procedures and nominations were in accordance with the MSMEDC Resolution No. 01 Series of 2023 “Approving the lmplementing Guidelines for the Presidential Awards for Outstanding MSMEs and Presidential Recognition for Outstanding Development Partners”.

The Conferment of Awards will be in July 2024 during the MSME Week. ♦
