|Ease of doing business creates ‘virtuous cycle’ of prosperity for LGUs – DTI chief|
Trade Secretary Ramon Lopez told local government officials that improving ease of doing business (EODB) in their cities and municipalities will create a “virtuous cycle” that will attract investments and jobs in their areas.
“Ease of doing business will attract investments that will lead to more business, jobs, and economic activities that will benefit your localities. These will lead to prosperity and urban development that will again attract more investments. It’s a virtuous cycle,” said Sec. Lopez.
The trade chief delivered his welcome remarks before 900 officials from local and national government units last 14 November. The event, focusing on EODB in local government units (LGUs) and improving the country's competitiveness, was organized by the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) in partnership with Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT).
