CB Assistant Director Jo-Dann Darong gives presentation on PQA-TORE during the Alternative Dispute Resolution Training for MSMEs on 28 October 2022

Manila City—Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) striving to achieve performance excellence are granted capability-training and consultancy services through the Philippine Quality Award (PQA) Program’s Toolkit for Organizational Resilience and Excellence (TORE), helping them to be at par with world-class standard.

Speaking to the fifty (50) participants of Department of Justice – Office for Alternative Dispute Resolution (OADR)’s Mediation Training for MSMEs on 28 October 2022 at New Coast Hotel, Manila, Assistant Director Jo-Dann Darong of the Department of Trade and Industry-Competitiveness Bureau (DTI-CB) underscored the importance of ensuring sustainability and future-ready performance.

“We, at the DTI, recognize the crucial role of MSMEs in driving the economic growth, especially as we recover from COVID-19 pandemic. Therefore, the PQA-TORE is designed to guide participating organizations in assessing the status of their total quality management system and strengthening their capability and resiliency,” Assistant Director Darong said.

The project which shall run for two months every cycle will guide organizations in adopting the PQA Framework and identifying strengths and opportunities for improvement.

“At the end of the project, the MSMEs will acquire a feedback report with action plan to work on the excellence of organization performance and to foster a culture of innovation as strategy development of an organization,” Assistant Director Darong added.

The PQA-TORE is also a hand-holding project for MSMEs who are aiming to apply for PQA Regionalization, a simplified assessment process which will allow deserving organizations in the regions to receive Levels 1 and 2 recognitions.

Meanwhile, the said three-day Mediation Training for MSMEs conducted by OADR from 26 to 28 October 2022 was also attended by DTI-CB personnel as part of their capability training on customer relation.
