The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Region 1 welcomed anew significant leadership transition as Outgoing Regional Director Raymond G. Panhon turned over the position to Acting Regional Director Merlie D. Membrere.

A ceremonial turnover program, witnessed by DTI R1 employees was held on January 15, 2025 at the DTI Regional Office 1 Conference Room, San Fernando City, La Union. The turnover ceremony was conducted with utmost respect and professionalism, symbolizing the seamless transition of leadership.

Atty. Panhon, has been re-assigned at the DTI Cordillera Region. He served as Regional Director of DTI R1 for eight (8) months. He expressed his gratitude to the DTI R1 team for their unwavering support and dedication throughout his tenure. He highlighted the significant accomplishments and learnings he has achieved during his tenure as Regional Director. RD Membrere, in her acceptance speech, expressed her commitment to continuing the momentum of DTI Region 1’s programs and initiatives. She emphasized the importance of collaboration, networking and integrity in the workplace. Membrere, a full-fledged Assistant Regional Director prior to her new assignment, has a proven track record and leadership skills. She is expected to propel DTI Region 1 to greater heights and strengthen its commitment to fostering a vibrant and competitive business environment in the region. ♦
