Hong Kong – The Department of Trade and Industry of the Philippines through the Philippine Trade and Investment Center – Hong Kong (PTIC-HK) led by Vice Consul (Commercial) and Commercial Attaché, Atty. Roberto B. Mabalot, Jr., proudly supported the location shoot of the Miss Hong Kong Pageant 2024 (Miss Hong Kong 2024), last July 28 to August 4, 2024, in Baguio City, Philippines.
The eight-day shoot in Baguio City showcased the incredible talents of outstanding Filipino Cordilleran women, Cordilleran creatives, and highlighted iconic attractions and local businesses such as the Baguio Cathedral of Our Lady of the Atonement, OTOP Hub, the Tam-awan Village, the Cordillera School of Digital Arts, Inc., among others.
Candidates Ellyn Ngai, Candice Wong, and Zoie Tse, engaged in a variety of dynamic and static activities, including:
- Learning the catwalk from transgender beauty queen A.R. Duque
- Visiting a local animation school to learn animation production
- Learning about the Cordilleran products and micro, small and medium enterprises in Baguio City
- Learning about the economic zones in Baguio City, such as John Hay Special Economic Zone and Baguio City Economic Zone
- Interviewing marathon runner Ms. Sandi Menchi Abahan, who holds three Guinness World Records
- Experiencing Cordilleran traditional attire and learning Cordilleran ethnic dance
- Performing alongside Cordilleran singer Ingrid Payaket
- Training in Muay Thai with champion Ms. Islay Erika Bomogao
- Immersed in the creative industry of the Cordillera
The Miss Hong Kong 2024 shoot was jointly supported by the DTI – Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR), DTI-Baguio-Benguet, Philippine Airlines, Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA), John Hay Management Corporation, Paragon Hotel and Suites, SM Mall Baguio, Baguio City government, Baguio City Police Office.
The Miss Hong Kong Pageant is an annual beauty pageant organized by the local Hong Kong television station, TVB Broadcast Limited (TVB). The pageant was established in 1946 and acquired by TVB in 1973.
