The Department of Trade and Industry further strengthens economic ties with Hong Kong SAR (HKSAR) business firms as the country’s business delegation to China presented trade and investment opportunities in the Philippine last 12-13 September 2024.

DTI Undersecretary for Industry Development and Investment Promotions Group, and Vice Chairman and Managing Head of the Board of Investments (BOI), Dr. Ceferino Rodolfo led the business mission joined by DTI’s Philippine Trade and Investment Center in Hong Kong (PTIC-HK) Vice Consul Commercial and Commercial Attaché Atty. Roberto Mabalot, Jr., and Director Ernesto C. Delos Reyes, Jr. of BOI’s Investment Assistance Service (BOI-IAS).

The business mission comprised of a series of meetings organized by PTIC-HK centered on exploring investment opportunities in various sectors including logistics, renewable energy, electric vehicles, textiles, telecommunications, and finance.

Furthermore, Undersecretary Rodolfo met with Secretary Algernon Yau of Hong Kong SAR’s Commerce and Economic Development Bureau, as well as representatives from the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce (HKGCC) to discuss areas of cooperation between the Philippines and HKSAR on key sectors.
