
HONG KONG SAR — Filipino ingenuity took center stage in Hong Kong as the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), through the Philippine Trade and Investment Center – Hong Kong (PTIC-HK), partnered with the Department of Science and Technology – Philippine Textile Research Institute (DOST-PTRI) in showcasing creative, sustainable, and innovative fashion at Fashion InStyle 2025, held from 27 to 30 April 2025.
As part of the country’s commitment to sustainable and innovative fashion, the PTIC-HK supported the DOST-PTRI’s delegation in introducing its latest advancements in natural textile fiber technologies, highlighting the Philippines’ rich heritage and craftsmanship. Alongside this, distinguished fashion organizations such as AsiaTex, KAWAYARN, Lakat Sustainables, and the Luxe Resort Collection by the Davao Fashion Design Council (DFDC) showcased their high-quality, trend-forward creations, reinforcing the Philippines’ growing influence in the global fashion landscape.
In conjunction with Fashion InStyle 2025, the Philippines also participated in concurrent trade fairs, including the Hong Kong Gifts & Premium Fair and Home InStyle. At the Hong Kong Gifts & Premium Fair, Freeriders International Corp. and Dekokraft Inc. Captivated buyers with finely crafted holiday décor and wooden souvenir items, while Home InStyle welcomed contributions from the Center for International Trade Expositions and Missions (CITEM), Conway Designs Inc., the Philippine Lifestyle Homestyle and Holiday Decor Association, Inc., and Home Accents Group of the Philippines Inc.
The trade fairs collectively drew approximately 67,000 buyers from 131 countries and regions, with significant international participation from Mainland China, Taiwan, and Malaysia. The overwhelming reception reinforced Hong Kong’s role as a vital gateway for international trade, underscoring the Philippines’ dedication to expanding its footprint in the global market.
Through its active participation in international trade fairs, PTIC-HK continues to champion Philippine creativity, highlighting the country’s inventiveness in textile innovation, sustainable fashion, and design excellence. By showcasing cutting-edge materials and artisanal craftsmanship, PTIC-HK strengthens the Philippines’ reputation as a global hub for creative industries.
