Taipei, Taiwan — The Philippine Trade and Investment Center in Taipei (PTIC-Taipei) in collaboration with Manila Economic and Cultural Office (MECO) Kaohsiung, and Department of Trade and Industry Region 5 (DTI-R5) organized the Philippine pavilion alongside Orgullo Kan Bicol (OKB), PhilExport, and Taiwanese importers for a community fair in Kaohsiung from February 22 to 23, 2025.

This Sunshine Island Vibes Fest 2025 event aligns with Taiwan’s New South Bound Policy, aiming to enhance economic cooperation and cultural exchange with Southeast Asian countries. Key partners included Kaohsiung City, American Institute in Taiwan (AIT), Japan-Taiwan Exchange Association, and Thailand Trade and Economic Office.

The mission aimed to promote Philippine products and generate trade leads, targeting both the 38,000 Filipinos in Kaohsiung and the broader Taiwanese market. Activities included booth displays, B2B with institutional buyers, media coverage, an abaca industry presentation, and local market study. Participating companies featured ready-to-eat food, snack foods, seafood, abaca handicrafts, carpets and homeware.
