The Philippine Accreditation Bureau – Promotion and Documentation Division (PAB-PDD) recently underwent a valuable professional development activity. The interactive session aimed to enhance the PDD personnel’s understanding of the intricate evaluation process, enabling them to provide more effective support during accreditation assessments.
Spearheaded by Engr. Estrella P. Abejero, Division Chief of PDD, welcomed PAB’s seasoned assessors, Mr. Roderick Dela Cruz and Ms. Katrina Talle of the Laboratory Accreditation Division (LAD), for a one-on-one coaching session on ISO/IEC 17025 assessment techniques. Their extensive experience in conducting assessments provided invaluable insights and practical examples to help PDD staff understand the nuances of the assessment process as they prepare to become assessors. The mentors shared best practices for interpreting the standard’s clauses, conducting thorough document reviews, and appropriately evaluating laboratory practices during on-site assessments.

This professional development activity will enhance the division’s ability to effectively promote PAB’s accreditation services. With a deeper understanding of the assessment, the PDD personnel will be better equipped to support the accreditation process, ensuring that PAB continues to deliver exceptional service to its growing client base and enabling the PDD staff to develop the necessary competencies to become proficient assessors.
By fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and collaboration among its divisions, PAB continues to uphold its mission of promoting confidence in conformity assessment services.
