Supported by Asian Development Bank (ADB), RERE Program is a PhP 44.3-million project that aims to increase rural employment generation by facilitating an enabling environment for job-creating productive private sector investments in rural areas; encouraging growth and expansion of rural enterprises, especially agro-processing and rural tourism enterprises; and improving skills of workers and job seekers in the areas of agro-processing and rural tourism.
DTI handles this project with Department of Agriculture (DA), Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR), Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), and Department of Tourism (DOT).
ACCOMPLISHMENTS AS OF 2016:
- Coordinated a meeting between DTI Undersecretary for Regional Operations Group Zenaida Maglaya and Ms. Suchin Teoh from Asian Development Bank on 17 February 2016 to discuss the status of the RERE project design
- Coordinated a follow-up meeting with Ms. Suchin Teoh on 3 March 2016 to discuss the scope and methodology of the project
- Facilitated preparation of TORs for the SSF assessment and MSMED Plan which will serve as inputs to the project design
