The Department of Trade and Industry – Cordillera Administrative Region (DTI-CAR) joined the Women Strong Network Hybrid Trade Fair organized by the Women’s Business Council Philippines, also known as WomenBizPH, in partnership with the DTI and the Philippine Commission on Women (PCW) from July 29-31 2022 at the SM Megamall, Mandaluyong City. The online exhibition or trade fair can still be accessed from August 1-20, 2022 at https://tradefair.womenbiz.ph/. The event puts focus on our women entrepreneurs and the role of women in the local economy.

A total of 11 CAR exhibitors joined the onsite trade fair—nine from Abra and two from Kalinga. All exhibitors belong to the wearables and home styles sector. During the 3 days sale, the MSMEs were able to generate a total of PHP 1,578,538.00. In addition to this, F. Barcena was awarded as Best Booth among all the exhibitors while Namarabar Ethnic Shop was awarded as Best Sales under the non-food category.

Two of CAR exhibitors, Glory’s Bamboo and Rovie’s Pasalubong, were the chosen exhibitors for the sales Pitch last July 29-30. During the said activity, the MSMEs shared their experiences and challenges as micro-entrepreneurs. After their pitch, both promised to never give up despite the trials/calamities. On the Closing Program, Namararabar Ethnic Shop was also chosen as one of the exhibitors who shared their testimony on how the said trade fair helped them. The Abra contingent was also applauded for their participation despite the 7.0 magnitude earthquake that left the land-locked province devastated.

The DTI-CAR continues to assist our Cordilleran entrepreneurs through marketing initiatives such as local and national trade fairs, in partnership with various public and private entities. The IMPAKABSAT Goes Back to Baguio also continues for its 4th week of showcase featuring Ifugao (August 6-12) and Kalinga (August 13-19) MSMEs at the Atrium of SM City Baguio.
