LMG Food Products Corporation, owned and managed by Lilia Malinao – Galang, is a true testament to the Filipino spirit of resilience, entrepreneurship, and love for the homeland.
Galang, who served as an Overseas Filipino Worker for 15 years in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, decided to leave behind career overseas and ventured into agri-business upon her return to the Philippine. As a proud Marinduqueña, Galang aims to position her hometown the taro capital of the Philippines.

In December 2017, Galang started her agri-preneurship journey with only a capital of Php 10,000, selling dried fish. Years after, LMG Food Products Corporation exports 61 products, including frozen goods and dried fish such as milkfish (bangus), herring, nemipterid (bisugo), squid, slimouth (sap-sap), and rabbitfish (danggit). The company also exports Filipino delicacies like frozen cassava cake (sumang balinghoy in Marinduque), steamed glutinous rice with milk jam (suman sa lihiya), sticky jute, pandan, bittermelon, banana leaves, and taro leaves harvested straight from Marinduque.
What started as a small-scale business has grown into a major exporter to over 15 countries worldwide. LMG Food Products Corporation’s manufacturing facility is located in Regalado, Quezon City, while Galang’s farmlands are situated in Bacong-bacong, Caigangan, and Bangcoro, Buenavista. As a trailblazer in agripreneurship and export trade, LMG Food Products Corporation is not just building a successful enterprise but also paving the way for a more vibrant and inclusive business ecosystem in Marinduque.
LMG’s commitment to excellence and continuous improvements is further exemplified by their active participation in various training programs provided by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) in Marinduque. One of the notable trainings Galang and her team have undertaken is the Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) training, emphasizing their dedication to quality and food safety standards.
Moreover, LMG has also sought assistance from DTI Marinduque during the application process for their logo trademarks and product improvements through the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines. By taking these steps, Galang ensures that her brand and products are protected and recognizing for their uniqueness and quality.
Beyond focusing solely on her own business, LMG pays it forward by assisting other micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Marinduque to market their products abroad. By leveraging her network, expertise abroad.
