Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Bukidnon and Department of Education (DepEd) Division of Valencia City signed a memorandum of agreement (MOA) on September 6, 2024 to implement a comprehensive Consumer Education and Advocacy (CEA) Program for school year 2024.

The MOA aims to empower students by promoting consumer rights and responsibilities, equipping them with the knowledge necessary to make informed decisions in the marketplace.

The MOA will integrate the CEA Program into the curriculum of Araling Panlipunan for Grades 9 and 10.

This collaboration is in line with the Consumer Act of the Philippines, directing the Department of Education to incorporate consumer education into the educational syllabi of both public and private educational institutions.

DTI Bukidnon, through its Consumer Protection Division, will conduct the learning sessions on consumer rights and responsibilities for Grade 9 and 10 students enrolled in Araling Panlipunan.

On the other hand, DepEd-Valencia City will provide the list of schools within the city for the conduct of consumer education learning sessions.
