Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), in partnership with Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI), brings the Investment Roadshow of the “Mainstreaming Energy Efficiency in MSMEs” project at N Hotel, Cagayan de Oro on May 28, 2025.

The project’s goal is to promote and facilitate the adoption of energy-efficient practices by the micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the Philippines. It is supported by the Brunei Darussalam-Indonesia-Malaysia-Philippines East ASEAN Growth Area (BIMP-EAGA) Korea Cooperation Fund (BKCF) grant.

A key event of the project, the investment roadshow serves as a platform to showcase the investment potential in MSME energy efficiency to a diverse audience.

It seeks to connect MSMEs with investors, financial institutions, and technology providers, fostering an environment conducive to scaling up energy efficiency projects.

The energy efficiency roadshow was brought to Mindanao through DTI Region 10. It was participated by around 130 MSMEs and private stakeholders from Regions 9, 10, 11, 12, and CARAGA.

DTI Regional Operations Group Undersecretary Blesila Lantayona, in her message, underscored the importance of collective action through sustainable practices.

DTI Undersecretary Blesila Lantayona speaks at the podium during the energy efficiency investment roadshow in Cagayan de Oro, with the Philippine flag visible in the background.

“More than just a project, this initiative is more than just a statement that development doesn’t need to come from afar. It can begin right here in our barangays through our cooperatives and with the leadership of our LGUs.” Usec. Lantayona said.

“Electricity, when treated as a resource to be used wisely, becomes a powerful tool to boost the economic activity and uplift our communities. At its core, energy efficiency is about real people living real lives.”

The energy efficiency roadshow in Mindanao is the second activity to be organized, following the first one held in Palawan. ♦
