Following the National Simultaneous Bamboo Planting which occurred on 19 September 2022, is the Signing of the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) on the Maintenance of Bamboo Planting Sites in the Cagayan Valley through the Government Internship Program (GIP) at Narra Hall, Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Regional Office No. 02, Carig Sur, Tuguegarao City, Cagayan on 24 October 2022.

Department of Labor and Employment R2 Regional Director Joel M. Gonzales, Department of Trade and Industry Region 2 Regional Director Leah Pulido Ocampo, represented by DTI R2 Assistant Regional Director Winston T. Singun, and DENR Regional Executive Director Gwendolyn Bambalan, inked the said MOA.

RD Gonzales emphasized the participation of GIP interns in public service by involving them in government programs, projects, and services through the various GIP Partner Agencies, this time with DENR and DTI, in the upkeep of the 11 bamboo planting sites in Cagayan.

The signed MOA sought to offer chances for people, particularly those who are poor and in dire need, to demonstrate their abilities and skills in the field of public service, with the ultimate goal of luring the best and the brightest who want to pursue a career in government service, particularly in the subjects and disciplines relating to labor and employment.

Key officials of the partner agencies were also present to witness the said MOA signing.
