Tuguegarao City, Cagayan —   The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Cagayan, through its Consumer Protection Division led by CPD Chief Lourdito B. Antonio, conducted a price monitoring initiative for school supplies along Tuguegarao City, Cagayan on 3 July 2024.

During the monitoring, the team visited four major establishments: National Book Store, Expressions, Pandayan Bookshop, and Unitop Mall. The initiative aims to ensure that consumers can access affordable school essentials, including notebooks, crayons, pad papers, pencils, and ballpens.

Monitoring results indicate a noticeable increase in consumer activity, with many parents and students beginning to purchase school supplies while prices remain favorable. This proactive approach by DTI Cagayan underscores the agency’s commitment to protecting consumer interests and promoting fair trade practices.

DC Antonio was accompanied by Mr. Mar Anthony Alan (STIDS, DTI R2 Cagayan), Mr. Serafin Umoquit (TIDS, DTI R2), Mr. Joshua Andre Accad (TIDS, DTI R2), Ms. Claire Ignacio (CPD-Cagayan Technical Assitant), and Ms. Jennifer Cardenas (GIP). ♦
