Success seems to be connected with action. Successful people keep moving. They make mistakes, but they don’t quit.” – Conrad Hilton

KMZ Printing Services, owned by Mr. Kevin Marc Hitchon, began in 2018 as M and Z Internet Shop in Barangay West Poblacion, Palauig, Zambales. Initially a Piso-Net Café, it aimed to support students, provide leisure, and enhance computer literacy. The business thrived for two years until the pandemic forced its closure in 2020. During this time, Mr. Hitchon and his wife relied on their day jobs to sustain their family, saving funds to rebrand their business.

In 2021, they left their city jobs and committed to growing their enterprise, rebranding as KMZ Printing Services. The business was run by three key members: Mrs. Cassandra Hitchon, a former kindergarten teacher managing marketing and finances; Mr. Kevin Marc Hitchon, handling machine maintenance with his IT expertise; and Mr. Peter Maza, their General Manager, skilled in IT and customer relations.

Under the slogan “Transforming Ideas into Quality Prints,” KMZ Printing Services expanded its offerings to include sublimation, heat transfer vinyl (HTV), tarpaulin, document, and photograph printing, along with direct-to-film (DTF) and silkscreen services. They also provided marketing materials such as vinyl stickers, PVC IDs, flyers, brochures, booklets, calling cards, and product labels. Additionally, they catered to events with customized invitations and souvenirs.

Beyond printing, KMZ Printing Services offered apparel customization, drinkware printing, and personalized accessories like tote bags, lanyards, acrylic medals, and trophies. They also introduced new services such as sintra board printing, decals, layout designs, product photography, ring binding, and IT maintenance, ensuring a comprehensive range of solutions for their customers.

Encouraged by Negosyo Center-Business Counselor Eileen Grace del Fierro, Mrs. Cassandra Hitchon joined the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and Go Negosyo’s Kapatid Mentor Me (KMME) Program in October 2023. This 10-module mentorship program covered essential business management topics, including financial auditing and marketing strategies. Through the program, KMZ Printing Services identified key areas for improvement, leading to refined marketing strategies, streamlined operations, and stronger financial management. These enhancements resulted in a 30% increase in efficiency and improved customer satisfaction. KMZ Printing Services graduated from the program with high honors, ranking 4th among the Top 10 Presenters.

In April 2024, Mrs. Hitchon participated in the DTI x Google Career Certification Program, a scholarship initiative providing free access to Coursera courses. She successfully completed certifications in Project Management and Digital Marketing & E-commerce, further equipping her with valuable skills to enhance the business.

As a result of these initiatives, KMZ Printing Services experienced a 30% increase in sales and expanded its product line to include office and school supplies. They also launched a new business catering to household needs. Additionally, they obtained PhilGEPS certification, allowing them to offer services to government clients and reach a broader market.

Today, KMZ Printing Services is a trusted name in Palauig, known for its high-quality prints and customer-centric approach. The journey of Mr. and Mrs. Hitchon is a testament to the transformative power of mentorship and perseverance. As Mrs. Hitchon beautifully states, “Every day is a new day you haven’t seen before. Go chase its potential.”
