
Calamba City – In a concerted effort to strengthen business compliance and promote consumer awareness, the City Government of Calamba, through its Cooperative and Livelihood Development Department (CLDD), in partnership with the Department of Trade and Industry – Laguna (DTI-Laguna), successfully conducted the Seminar on Reportorial Requirements for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and Consumer Education on March 6, 2025, at Meeting Room D, Jose Rizal Coliseum, Brgy. Real, Calamba City.
The seminar brought together both potential and existing MSMEs seeking guidance on business registration, taxation, licensing requirements, and consumer rights. Through this initiative, entrepreneurs were equipped with critical knowledge to ensure legal compliance, enhance business credibility, and protect consumer interests.
Expert speakers provided practical guidance on key compliance processes:
Reportorial Requirements for MSMEs – Ms. Andrea Mae Macuha, DTI-Laguna Negosyo Center Business Counselor, discussed DTI Business Name (BN) registration, Barangay Micro Business Enterprise (BMBE) registration, and compliance with regulatory requirements to ensure business legitimacy.
Business Permit Application Process & eBOSS – Mr. Rey Francis Elauria, Licensing Officer, Business Permits and Tricycle Franchising Office, guided participants on securing local business permits, using the Electronic Business One-Stop Shop (eBOSS) system, and streamlining application procedures.



BIR Registration and Tax Compliance – Ms. Sherrelyn Rosas and Mr. Prince Laluon, Revenue Officers from BIR RDO 056, provided a comprehensive overview of BIR registration, tax filing obligations, and compliance with tax laws for MSMEs.
Consumer Education – Mr. Kim Carlo Palacio, DTI-Laguna Negosyo Center Business Counselor, emphasized consumer protection laws, fair trade practices, and ethical business operations, reinforcing the role of MSMEs in fostering a trustworthy business environment.
Attendees engaged in discussions, addressing concerns on business compliance. The City Government of Calamba and DTI-Laguna reaffirmed their commitment to supporting local entrepreneurs through continuous business development programs.
