VICTORIA, LAGUNA – In celebration of the Consumer Welfare Month 2024 last October, themed “Be smart, assert your consumer rights!”, the Department of Trade and Industry – Laguna Provincial Office (DTI-Laguna), in partnership with the Provincial Government of Laguna, Metro Central Mall Development Corporation, and Enchanted Kingdom Inc., conducted the Grand Finals of the 2024 Songwriting & Music Video and Short Film Competitions on October 30, 2024, at Metro Central Mall, Santa Cruz, Laguna.

About the Competitions

The annual Songwriting & Music Video and Short Film Competitions are part of DTI-Laguna’s initiatives to promote consumer education and advocacy through creative platforms. By encouraging junior and senior high school students in songwriting, music video production, and filmmaking, the competition aims to raise awareness about consumer protection laws, particularly the Republic Act No. 7394, otherwise known as the Consumer Act of the Philippines.

These competitions provide students an opportunity to internalize the importance of consumerism while fostering collaboration between the academe, provincial, and local governments to promote consumer rights and responsibilities.
