
San Pablo City – The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) – Laguna Provincial Office joined the grand opening ceremony of the Coco Trade Fair 2025, marking the official start of San Pablo City’s 30th Coco Festival. The event took place at the Library Hub, City Plaza on January 9, 2025 and was attended by local officials, business leaders, and national government representatives. The ribbon-cutting ceremony signaled the beginning of the trade fair, which is set to promote entrepreneurship and stimulate economic activity throughout the city.
In her keynote address, Ms. Teresita F. Tawingan, Chief of the Business Development Division of DTI Laguna, expressed the agency’s strong commitment in supporting local businesses, coconut farmers, and the continued growth of the coconut industry.


“The coconut industry plays a crucial role in supporting the nation’s economic progress,” Tawingan said. “DTI remains dedicated to fostering a business environment that is conducive to trade, investment, and industry development. In 2025, we will further advance this goal through the Coconut Farmers and Industry Development Program (CFIDP), which will provide coconut farmers with necessary resources, technology, and training to enhance both their productivity and profitability.”
Tawingan also highlighted CFIDP’s focus on equipping farmers with valuable tools to succeed, including market capability training, product enhancement initiatives, market matching services, and opportunities to showcase their products at trade fairs.
The Coco Trade Fair, which will run from January 9 to January 15, 2025, invites the public to explore a wide variety of coconut-based products, celebrating the sustainability of the local coconut industry. (Arianne Alinios, DTI-Laguna) ♦
