Santa Rosa City — The Department of Trade and Industry – Laguna Provincial Office (DTI-Laguna), represented by its Negosyo Center Santa Rosa City and Negosyo Center Biñan City, in collaboration with the Cooperatives and Livelihood Development Department (CLDD) of Calamba City, conducted a webinar entitled “Effective Negotiation Skills cum Consumer Education” on March 14, 2025, via the Zoom online platform.

The webinar was attended by micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and would-be entrepreneurs not just in Santa Rosa City but also from nearby communities. This collaborative effort shows the determination of these government agencies to support local enterprises and enhance economic development. One of the program objectives is to enhance the negotiating skills of the participants, which is crucial for the success of the business. The organizers were able to arm the participants with the fundamentals and techniques of negotiations so that they will be informed of the useful skills to communicate and deal.

The learning course was a practical one and not just theoretical so that the participants could apply the same in their business directly. This exercise will enhance business owners’ negotiating skills, improving business relationships and overcoming challenges. Consumer education that streams is a timely initiative to warn businesses not to default in cheating customers. With this joint webinar, a step toward sustainable economic development in the Laguna area is being taken. The DTI-Laguna and CLDD reinforce the business ecosystem to build stronger Laguna MSMEs and would-be entrepreneurs. This event demonstrates the power of interagency collaboration in supporting local businesses and driving economic progress (NJDAtayde, DTI-Laguna). ♦
