Los Baños, Laguna – On March 1, 2025, the Department of Trade and Industry – Laguna Provincial Office (DTI-Laguna), through its Negosyo Center in Los Baños, collaborated with the Municipal Government of Los Baños and several key national agencies, including the Department of Agriculture (DA), Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), and the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), to successfully organize the Kadiwa ng Pangulo (KNP) program in front of the Municipal Building in Los Baños, Laguna.

The KNP program is a vital initiative aimed at improving access to affordable and fresh agricultural products. By eliminating middlemen, KNP creates a direct link between local farmers and consumers, ensuring that essential goods are sold at reasonable prices. This not only helps reduce the cost of living for families but also allows farmers to earn a fair income for their produce.

As one of the primary beneficiaries of the program, consumers in Los Baños can now access quality, locally grown food items at prices significantly lower than those available in traditional markets. This initiative ensures food availability while contributing to the overall well-being of the community by providing an avenue for local farmers to showcase and sell their goods directly to the public.

Additionally, the KNP program plays a significant role in the empowerment of small businesses by creating opportunities for these entrepreneurs to reach more customers. Local vendors also benefit from the exposure gained through this platform, expanding their market reach and supporting the local economy.

“The success of this program reflects the continuous effort of the Department of Trade and Industry to make basic goods more accessible to the public, while also helping our local farmers and small businesses thrive,” said the DTI-Laguna representative. “By supporting initiatives like the Kadiwa ng Pangulo, we are ensuring that families in

Laguna can access affordable, nutritious food, and we are fostering an environment where farmers and entrepreneurs can grow and succeed.”

With its long-term goals centered on promoting economic sustainability, the collaboration between local government and national agencies highlights a unified effort in driving change and addressing critical challenges faced by consumers and farmers alike.

As the program continues, the DTI-Laguna remains committed to creating more opportunities for small businesses, empowering farmers, and ensuring that the community has access to fresh and affordable food products. This initiative underscores the importance of public-private partnerships and collective action in promoting sustainable development and improving the lives of Filipino citizens.
