DTI Rizal, SM Prime Holdings Empower Tenants in SM City Masinag with BCP Workshop

Antipolo City, Rizal – The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Rizal, in partnership with SM Prime Holdings, Inc., successfully held a Business Continuity Planning (BCP) workshop for SM City Masinag tenants on April 23, 2025. The initiative aimed to equip business owners with essential disaster preparedness and resilience tools.

Led by DTI Rizal’s BDD Chief Sharon F Dioco and STIDS Marlene De Luna and Joanna Caldito, with support from business counselors, the workshop engaged fourteen SM Masinag tenants. SM Masinag Assistant Mall Manager Randolf P. Alba and Antipolo City CDRRMO Officer Enrilito Bernardo Jr. also played key roles.

The workshop guided business owners in creating actionable plans for business recovery during and after calamities. “This collaboration with SM Prime Holdings reinforces our commitment to building resilient businesses in Rizal,” stated Chief Dioco. Mr. Alba echoed this, emphasizing SM Prime’s dedication to ensuring tenant operations can withstand disruptions.

STIDS Joanna Caldito led the BCP workshop, covering risk assessment, response strategies, communication protocols, and recovery planning. Participants actively engaged, highlighting their commitment to resilient enterprises.

CDRRMO Officer Enrilito Bernardo Jr. provided insights into Antipolo’s geography, its vulnerability to landslides and flooding, and the city’s mitigation plans. He also shared vital contact information for agencies assisting MSMEs during emergencies.

The BCP Workshop series is scheduled to continue at SM Center Angono and SM Center Antipolo Downtown. ♦
