
San Mateo, Rizal | In line with the 2024 Memorandum of Understanding between the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and SM Prime Holdings, the Business Resilience Program for MSMEs officially brought its Business Continuity Planning (BCP) Training Workshop to Rizal province this year.
The SM City San Mateo served as pilot venue for the BCP training sessions, with a total of 20 tenant participants actively engaging in the initiative.
The BCP Workshop at SM City San Mateo was held on April 22, 2025, with tenants welcomed by Assistant Mall Manager Sigfred Tatom. The session opened with an overview of San Mateo’s disaster preparedness, presented by Mr. Stephen Flores, Deputy Chief of the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office.
The BCP program proper was led by Ms. Joanna Caldito, Senior Trade and Industry Development Specialist (STIDS) of DTI-Rizal, supported by DTI business counselors who facilitated hands-on exercises. Each section of the BCP framework was discussed in detail, guiding tenants in developing personalized plans for business continuity and recovery.

The BCP Workshop series is set to continue in SM City Masinag, SM Center Angono and SM Center Antipolo Downtown, expanding the reach of this vital initiative across the province. ♦
