The Kadiwa ng Pangulo (KNP) program has officially returned to the province of Rizal, bringing with it access to affordable fresh produce and essential goods while supporting local farmers, fisherfolk, and micro-enterprises (MSEs) by cutting out intermediary market layers. The KNP, a key initiative of the government to ensure food security and market access for local producers, was formalized through a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signed in 2023, witnessed by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. Signatories to the MOA included the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), along with other national government agencies (NGAs) such as the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), Department of Agriculture (DA), Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Presidential Communications Office (PCO), and Presidential Management Staff (PMS).
The program kicked off in Antipolo City on February 19, 2025, featuring over 15 MSEs from both the food and non-food sectors assisted by DTI Rizal, DOLE Rizal and DA Rizal.
Building on the success of previous KNP implementations, local government units (LGUs) in Rizal have scheduled extended market dates to better serve their constituents throughout the year.
