CEBU – Cebu’s vibrant export industry is set to make waves at this year’s Manila FAME, the Philippines’ premier home, fashion, and lifestyle trade show, running from October 17-19 at the World Trade Center Metro Manila.

Representing the Cebu-Gifts, Toys, and Houseware (GTH) Foundation, fifteen (15) of Cebu’s leading companies will showcase their innovative and world-class products in a specially curated exhibit at the Cebu-GTH Pavilion.

Through the Tatak Pinoy Industrial Policy (TPIP) Program, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) – Region 7 Central Visayas has provided comprehensive support to these Cebuano enterprises, enabling them to present products that seamlessly blend tradition, craftsmanship, and contemporary design.

The participating companies from Cebu include 33 Point 3 Exports, Inc., Arden Classic Inc., Art N’ Nature Manufacturing Corp., Bon-ace Fashion Tools, Inc., Calape Crafts, Cebu Homecraft Consolidated, Inc., Cebu Philcrafttraders, Inc., Dierde Export Trading, Finale Furniture and Home Accessories, Mano Arts Corp., Maranga Furniture Manufacturing, Real Imagination Home and Garden Furnishings, Rei Handi Global Corp., R & S Handicraft Manufacturing, and Wagas Crafts/Ukulele.

DTI’s support covers technical and logistical assistance, including booth space rental, freight costs, and professional booth design and curation services, ensuring these businesses are well-prepared to make a lasting impact at the event.

DTI-7 Regional Director Maria Elena Arbon emphasized that the funding provided to these MSMEs comes from the TPIP Program, established under Republic Act No. 11981 (Tatak Pinoy Act). This initiative underscores DTI’s commitment to promoting the Philippines’ global competitiveness by enhancing the market presence of high-quality, innovative products.

“We are thrilled to support Cebu’s exporters in showcasing their creativity and products on a global stage at Manila FAME,” said Dir. Arbon. “This event offers an excellent opportunity for our local companies to gain international exposure, build new partnerships, and strengthen their brands in an increasingly competitive global market.”

Dir. Arbon added, “Manila FAME 2024 highlights Filipino creativity, and Cebu’s exporters play a key role in demonstrating the innovation and craftsmanship that define the region. The Cebu-GTH Pavilion will exhibit how our local companies turn raw materials into extraordinary products that appeal to both local and global consumers.”

This year’s Manila FAME, with the theme REIMAGINATION, will celebrate the ingenuity of Filipino designers as they transform local raw materials into artistic and functional pieces. The show will feature over 250 exhibitors from across the country, presenting new perspectives on home furnishings, fashion, and lifestyle products.

According to Dir. Arbon, visitors will experience a distinctive island setting at the Cebu-GTH Pavilion where each exhibitor tells their own story through carefully arranged displays. “The pavilion’s curator has designed the space with a focus on rhythm and flow, ensuring that every product – from finely crafted furniture to fashion accessories – is presented in a way that reflects the spirit of REIMAGINATION,” she added.

“We’re excited about how this year’s theme aligns with Cebu’s strengths. Many of our exhibitors have been pushing the boundaries of design, using sustainable materials and combining them with cutting-edge techniques,” said Dr. Ronaldo “Bong” Salazar, CEO of Finali Furniture and Home Accessories. “It’s a chance to show the world the best of Cebu.”

Since 1983, Manila FAME has been at the forefront of promoting Filipino design on the global stage, supporting the growth of Philippine MSMEs and showcasing the country’s rich artisanal heritage. As a member of the Union des Foires Internationales (UFI), the event enjoys global recognition and attracts thousands of buyers, designers, and industry professionals from around the world.

“Buyers from around the globe are encouraged to visit the Cebu-GTH Pavilion to explore an exciting array of high-quality products that seamlessly blend tradition and innovation. This is a one-of-a-kind opportunity to form new business partnerships while experiencing the finest of Cebuano craftsmanship firsthand,” said Dir. Arbon.
