The headline inflation rate at the national level in 2019 begins at a slower pace at 4.4 percent in January 2019. Last month, it was recorded at 5.1 percent and in January 2018, 3.4 percent.

Slowdown in the annual increments were noted in the following indices: food and non-alcoholic beverages; alcoholic beverages and tobacco; clothing and footwear; housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels; health; and transport.
